Here at Love Your Neighbor, we believe Jesus Christ is transforming lives. As we follow Him, we work hard to equip our community to love, serve and connect with dignity.
This isn’t just our mission statement. Our faith is what drives us.
We partner with churches in our community who share this same desire. Churches who follow Jesus Christ and want to live out the first and second commandments: to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself.
These commandments, taken from The Good Samaritan Parable, were paradigm-shifting for us in 2017, and brought a deep desire to serve others well, in a way that looked like Jesus. In 2021, after years of prayer and discernment, we had the opportunity to better steward our funds, our local control, and fully live into what we feel God was calling us to – shifting Jesus Christ to the beginning of our mission statement and highlighting that HE does the transforming. This shift created an increase in transformation that we still witness daily. And this change meant disaffiliating from Love INC and changing our name.
Since then, and really since our beginning in 1984, we continue to pursue unity in the church, looking to John 17 and Ephesians 4, and envision a future where churches of all doctrines can work together to follow God’s call from Matthew 25, to care for the vulnerable together. We believe every person is created in the image of God, and therefore has dignity. And that every person has something to offer.
As we continue to serve our community, our statement of belief centers on the Apostles’ Creed. And as we continue to offer our services and programs at Love, we continue to find ways to equip the local church to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bring the Good News, and watch how God uses one relationship at a time to transform us all.
Our agenda has always and only been to love God, and love our neighbor.
Shalom,
Jodi Cole Meyer
