The financial realities for families in Hudsonville, Jenison, and Grandville are not what they might seem.

  • In 2007 the number of people living in the ALICE window (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed ) was 19%. In 2019 it rose to 25%. Just a year later, the number of ALICE households in Michigan skyrocketed to 38%.
  • One financial hiccup (like an emergency room visit) forces these families to make drastic financial choices, like delaying preventative medical care, choosing an unlicensed daycare, not paying the car insurance bill, and other decisions that threaten the safety and financial security of the family.
  • In Ottawa County, 40% of families are making these kinds of hard decisions.

When we see great need, our hearts move. But often it’s difficult to know how to help or make a
difference.

Love Your Neighbor is a connection
between your gift and another’s need.

In an interdependent community, everybody has something to offer. What do you have to give?
How can we serve our community together?

Perhaps you have time to volunteer…
Money to give…
Other resources to share or contribute…

You can make a difference.

Let’s prepare a place for those who need help meeting basic needs in our community.
Let’s together create a community where God transforms people.

Here’s how you can get involved
