I heard about the Life Skills Program through Habitat for Humanity. They suggested I join this program to help me budget my money and to be able to afford a house of my own. So I did.
After a long journey with Habitat, I didn’t end up getting the house. But they helped another family in need get into a house. Even though it seemed hopeless at the time, I stayed positive and decided to continue with the Life Skills Program. I’m very happy I decided to stay.
I have learned so many things I didn’t even know I needed.
Things like setting boundaries, nutrition, wellness and so many more amazing classes.
I was able to buy my first house. It’s a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom trailer. It’s a fixer upper and it’s mine.
Love Your Neighbor has been an amazing resource. They have found people that helped me put in a new door. They are continuing to help me plug into resources so I continue with getting some of my projects done. I’m very blessed and thankful to all the people at the Life Skills Program for all of their help and encouragement.
Life Skills gave me the opportunity to take my kids camping. We have never been camping before as a family. It was called Single Mom’s Camp. It was a life-changing experience. I met wonderful women who taught me how important it is to find time for God and also myself.
I got baptized at camp! It was such an amazing blessing to be able to find a quiet place where I could get closer to God. This camp was life-changing for both my kids and myself.
I joined the women of the Single Momm’s group that is new to this area. I’m looking forward to the classes they are offering and continuing to grow.
I’m looking forward to seeing where God takes me.
