Yesterdays story was from someone directly impacted by a dear friend of Love, Sondra Ten Clay.
Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His godly ones. – Psalm 116:15
I’m honored to contribute memory of one of our most dedicated volunteers. Sondra Ten Clay was a member of the board of directors when I was the Executive Director beginning in 2014. She was part of the team that gave me the wonderful opportunity to be part of the ministry of what was then known as Love INC! She served as board president and quickly became one of my dearest friends. Offering tangible support and wise counsel as I adjusted to leading the ministry.
She was a frequent visitor to the campus, stopping by the various ministry areas to offer support and gratitude for each person who served. Sondra was passionate about the ministry, serving as a mentor in the Life Skills Program.
After just two short years together, Sondra was diagnosed with cancer and on August 8, 2016, the ministry lost one of its most beloved volunteers. I was honored to speak at her funeral service and what I learned was that her footprint of engagement was felt throughout our community and her loss was keenly felt.
I’ll be forever grateful that I had the chance to know and be influenced by Sondra Ten Clay. And I’ll be forever grateful for the lasting contribution she made to Love Your Neighbor as a ministry leader and champion! Her family was deeply grateful for the ministry of Love Your Neighbor and established an endowment fund in her honor. If you remember Sondra and feel the same sense of gratitude for her contribution to the lasting ministry of Love Your Neighbor, there’s no better time than during this 40th Year Anniversary to honor her legacy than by contributing to the Sondra Ten Clay Endowment fund. The proceeds from this fund are used for the Life Skills Program.
